I just got my first DAC. It's the SMSL Sanskrit MK III (3). What I want to say is this.
After a lot of thinking why my smartphone gets it's audio signal blocked I decided to do a test.

I connected an external battery to power up this DAC, to see if it drains the external battery OR the usb input device (in this case a smartphone).

3 hours of listening has passed (My PC is connected for the music, and battery for power supply).

This DAC always prioritizes the audio/power input OVER the actual POWER ONLY supply.

That is why my phone gets disconnected ever minute. AND the battery on my phone drains like CRAZY (WITH THE EXTERNAL POWER CONNECTED!).

So... I ordered a "Female usb-c to Male Coaxial.
This way I can connect my phone to the coaxial input and bypass my phone getting sucked on and getting its audio kicked off.

The adapter was half the price of the DAC but I don't really care. I don't want to send it back and then buy another DAC with the same problem.
Maybe I should've got a similar DAC with a "real", normal adapter included but I didn't.

I just want to fix this problem and not struggle with or wait for another DAC.

Putting it out there. Cause I am a bit dissapointed by this.

Thank you for your time!

Phil

You're welcome. I've been using it for almost a month now with my laptop and it's great.
Loopback recording with Audacity is an amazing feature. (You can record anything you are listening to with no quality loss).
The usb-c to coax works like a charm (for a smartphone etc.), and I don't have to disconnect my laptop from the usual usb port. (Actually a win-win sutuation).
Sound reproduction is very good. You can actually "see" the difference between a 16-bit and a 24-bit record.
I used one of the songs from the album "Higher" by Chris Stapleton to compare it.
Also found out that music you obtain "the easy way" (even if it is FLAC), is not captured with good gear so I pay for Tidal now.
This DAC reveals everything. It's that good. (With a minor issue noted).

Edit: Loopback recording does not record the exact audio. There is a huge impact on sound imaging. You can't get audiophile grade content using this feature.
