My Pixel 8 as player to small powered speaker?
Maybe a Genelec G One? Or..?
Would it work? What cables does this require?
I agree with posts that loss of 3.5mm headphone jack on smartphones
may cause shortened life expectancy of these USB-C
charging ports used for more that just charging.
I keep 50 or so albums on my Pixel.
Use an excellent phone app for music play interface.
Most my files are north of Redbook, many are dsf.
Use app to convert music files to 44.1 or 48kHz 16-bit
to save storage space on the Pixel.
So no one suggests I'm no on streaming and Bluetooth.
With audio I'm a dyed-in-wool, wired-only curmudgeon.
OK Boomer:)

Sure you can connect your Pixel 8 to a powered speaker.

All you need is a DAC (connected via USB or Network, doesn't matter) and the right audio cables. Which ones depends on your DAC and the speakers.

Not sure what that second half of your post is all about.

Genelec G One/8010
Both suggested speakers only have analog inputs (as far as I can see), so to have quality reproduction of your audio files, you need some DAC (dongle or desktop) between your phone and the mentioned speakers.

I have 25,000 FLACs with a total size of 1.1TB in my music library. I use MusicBee to transcode to maximum quality Opus files and sync with my Nothing Phone (2). The Opus files take up 258GB on my phone (which is the 512GB model, so plenty more room!).

I can drive my Topping x50 stack with my phone (or Android tablet). I use the x50 stack purely for headphones, but I could connect powered monitors if I wished...

This little USB-C splitter lets me charge the phone and drive the DAC at the same time...

This one also works...
