Sennheiser HD 599 Special Edition - worth it?

I am thinking about buying HD599 SE (exclusive to Amazon) at around $90 new - thanks to the exchange rate. is it worth it?
I missed the Monolith THX 887 deal at $200, so it will have to be in the box for a while. any other amp in that price range that I should consider?

A bit 'warm' in tonal balance (can be EQ'ed) I would assume the SE is not that different from the normal HD599 except for color scheme.

Decent headphone, good VFM for $ 90.-

Note: the HD280Pro and Brainwavz HM5 are closed and the HD599(SE) are open back. So people around you can hear you playing and you won't be isolated and can hear sounds around you.

If I take a step back, what should I buy given $250 budget ( with some room to wiggle)? No Drop headphone unfortunately as I live in EU
