I attended the Toronto Audio Fest Saturday October 21, 2023 with a best friend who has also gone down the audiophile rabbit hole. Here are some lousy pictures taken with my cell phone. The majority of the prices were ridiculous.

Starting from the top left corner and moving right:
  • 1) Focal Grande Utopia - these sounded amazing, best of the speakers I heard, a little out of my price range ;-) I think he said $350k USD
  • 2) Elipson Legacy 3210 - $6,500 CDN, these sounded really good, with strong clean bass output for essential a book shelf speaker
  • 3) Magneplanar - Sounded excellent, however they were way to big for a hotel room. I'm not sure what model they are.
  • 4) Wharefedale Dovedale - $10,000 CDN - I really, really liked these speakers
  • 5) Fleetwood Deville - these were meh, 25% off special for the show, over $20k CDN before the discount.
  • 6) Coherent modular Thunder Dragon speakers - big impressive sound, very dynamic - not for your average living or family room! Something like over $50k CDN
  • 7) Gershman Accoustics - sounded great but they were playing classical music which I'm not into.
  • 8) Left speaker is Coherent speakers and the ones on the right are Adam by Alto Audio (based in New York) $22k - theese were one of my favourite speakers
  • 9) Uhmm I forget what speakers they were, $120 CDN, electrostatic, I think and were one of the best sounding speakers at the show! per MattHooper -"BTW, the #9 speakers are the alsyvox ribbon speakers that have been getting many raves at shows. I really wanted to hear them!" Thanks for the information MattHooper!
  • 10) Advance Paris - power amplifier, I love the meters!
  • 11) Not sure who makes the streamer is but I loved the big screen on it
  • 12 Fyne Audio speakers
  • 13) Audio Note speakers $18k - sounded very good but of course not worth the price
  • 14) Triangle speakers - really sounded good

Really big dynamic sound, tons of bass as you would expect by the large woofers.

I'm in Toronto and would have loved to attend the show; lots of speaker brands there this year I was really curious about. (Can't make it out to shows at this point).
So...thanks for the photos! And your impressions.

BTW, the #9 speakers are the alsyvox ribbon speakers that have been getting many raves at shows. I really wanted to hear them!

I am also interested in the Alsyvox, would like to compare to Clarysis and Diptyque, but I do believe the Alsyvox are pricey (relative to the other two planar brands)

After the Focal Grande Utopias (I spend >2 hours in that room), I found the Coherent Thunder Dragon gave the most holographic and immersive sound. Did anyone else experience this?
