Chris i guess that room does not need any Room correction or for that matter a target curve .

Target curves/strange work dress-codes.

Cool either way...

I think I am a bit late but I am still buying stuff... for Christmas...
I have not made the decision if these are presents to myself for 2023 or 2024 Christmas!

I could not refuse buying a used Rotel RT-1084 AM/FM/HD/RDS/SXM Tuner for $150.

I don't know if I'll get much use out of it but I am sure it will add a touch of old-skool (circa 2007) to my Rotel pre/Proc.

I like my job, hope you like yours too.

Me in the background, reading a dmesg with my assistant. In the foreground my other assistant types in a useless use of cat.
I'm a Linux systems administrator and this is what a typical day at the office is like.

I love teaching. Otherwise I'd not have lasted 20 years in the trade.

Not sure I can spend so much hi-fi the next 3 years , this month I gave my daughter 100 000 USD as help to buy a new house.. I have to pay the bank…
I will regret not buying the JVC QL-5F I saw last month.

I have been spending more time in my home office. I saw some 8030c used for $1k, so I jumped on them to replace an Amazon Echo Show. I will post pics in the appropriate thread when I get back from vacation.

I guess for Christmas I will look at the 7040a sub and some sort of EQ balanced DAC (RME Babyface, MiniDSP Flex, or Topping D50 III). I could use more bass but can see the room response gremlins lurking at 50 hz and 24 hz.

That's a shame!
Couldn't you just skim $1K off the top (for the TT) and tell your daughter 1% was the bank fee for early withdrawal?

I just moved to Sacramento, and we are renting for a while, I order to acquaint ourselves with the area before we buy, but I am thinking about a sound system for the house we buy, with good sound and a high spousal approval factor. The Wiim Amp Pro, that is coming out this fall, seems like a great choice for a high spousal approval factor. I don’t do vinyl or CDs, just stream.

What a nice thing to do for your daughter. Does paying back the bank mean you took a loan, borrowed from retirement accounts, or just need to replenish savings?
