If they're gonna have a sophomoric name -- I'm gonna lean into it.
Schiit's got a new (?) vacuum tube headphone amplifier, using an actual tube (twin triode) with actual plate voltage (100 V), actually cheap ($149).
Do we know anyone who might want to test one?

Does my posting this mean that I need to buy one & get it drop shipped to... you know... somebody?
:)

For what it's worth, Schiit provides their own suite of Audio Precision measurements, linked in the spec sheet page.
Though for some reason they only ran tests with a 300ohm load here.

OH, SCHIIT, I can't find it. Help me (us) with a link. Hate to see Mr Hardy waste money.

Based on the 32 ohm spec -- it's probably more powerful than my SE 2A3 loudspeaker amp into 8 ohms. :)

Okay saw that, but at ASR we we spoiled with graphs not specmanship.

I predict that they're going to sell uh, a Schitt-load of the things. When you place your order, don't forget about their selection of "merch" (or should that be "merde"?)

Is this one of those tricky tube units where you can pull the tube out while it's playing without so much as a hiccup ?

The only reason I ever see for testing tube equipment on here is to feed the need to bash products. They aren't designed for the devout here. The 2nd harmonics will always cause them to 'rate' low.
Thanks for the heads up though, I just ordered one to use as a preamp. But it is shipping to me.

I was going to have everyone in a circle doing something else but I figured that would surely get me banned....

Not really. All over the print and net media folks are being told about the fantastic sound quality benefits of tube gear.
They deserve somewhere to learn the truth.

It doesn't appear to be, actually -- they claim that the B+ is 100 volts, so those two triodes in that one bottle may actually be doing something to the signal. Maybe even just doing something with the signal. ;)
