I recently bought the Simgot EM10, thinking that what with so many people online talking about how much IEMs have improved in just the past couple of years, that I'd be greatly impressed. I wasn't. How is it that for $440 in 2024, you get worse bass than you'd get for $50 in 2015? Like, sure, the EM10 is objectively a better IEM in all regards, but it just doesn't have immersive bass. The CX 400-II, for all of its flaws, actually sounds like a speaker system with a proper subwoofer whenever a bass kick happens. You get the auditory impression of the subwoofer membrane shifting dramatically when a bass kick happens, like in one of those videos showcasing massive car subwoofers, but not in a way that affects the rest of the audio. It's amazingly well separated. I can't for the life of me figure out how to EQ the EM10s so that they give the same immersive bass response when playing.

So, would love help with setting up my user1 preset so that I can make these kick as hard. Otherwise, I'd love to know which IEMs are amazing warm all-rounders with actual slamming bass. Is it basically just the summit-fi stuff like Fatfreq Grand Maestro, Sennheiser IE 900, FiiO FA19, and Canpur CP622B, or are there mid-fi stuff that have similar properties? Perhaps of use, is that the CX 400-II are Single neodymium dynamic driver IEMs. >.<

The 7Hz Zero:2 has actual slamming bass, provided you get a good seal.

I've used the 7Hz Zero 2 since a couple weeks after it released this year, got it for $20. Sadly, I find it to be absolutely lackluster in the bass department compared to both the EM10 and the CX 400-II.
