NAD M66 - finally someone makes a decent 2-channel preamp!

Thanks so base on the picture you posted the M33 has the same streaming unit as the M66.

If that is BS Node like streaming I am not sure it will deliver the quality I am looking for.

I currently have a Lumin U2 which is significantly better but does not provide BluOS multiroom.

The streaming module is one small piece in the whole puzzle. I'm certain that a Node won't have nowhere near the same quality of the power supply, preamp or DAC to be close to an M66. I had the current Node for a few weeks, tested it against the iFi Zen Stream, it was pretty shite to be honest. However, the M33 that I am currently using sounds fantastic, maybe not better but absolutely more coherent than the separates I had before. I would expect M66 to be even better given the improvements it brings and for using a separate amplifier.

but trinnov room correction
The M66 and other NAD products get DLART. If Trinnov room correction was ever superior to Dirac Live, it will be no longer ;)

that is the question . i don't know , but there will be people saying that trinnov is superior , a discussion for another day.
and trinnov is working on a bass management that might compete with DLART / DLBC

my distributor says his NAD rep brought them an M66 to demo and will be released in 2 weeks: of course we have been hearing 'two weeks' for many months....

The Trinnov system works with subs. DLART (co-optimization) is not restricted to subs and will also be able to correct above 150Hz in the future. Of course, subs are used in many setups, but unlike Trinnov's system, co-optimization also works in a 2.0 configuration.

Just ordered mine through Crutchfield. No estimated ship date as of yet. The rep I spoke with indicated it probably wouldn't be shipping until early March.

Hi
has anyone here considered the trinnov nova . it ticks a lot of boxes . would need a streamer . and certainly not as sexy as the NAD . but trinnov room correction .
Interesting device and not seen that before but I'd say not really the right market segment, there's a few drawbacks to it - and probably deliberately so as that's ultimately where the Trinnov Amethyst is aimed at, but for even larger money!

The biggest issue I see with the Nova is the lack of a decent remote control or even physical controls on the device itself. There is a remote they do called the La Remote, but that's a £1000 remote and clearly aimed at the Pro user and not a home user simply wanting essentially input selection and volume control.
Having no easy or obvious means to control it rules it out for me personally. It's also no looker either, and the inputs are probably a bit lacking too. But both those things would have been workable at least, given the money saving against an Amethyst.

I'd still prefer to consider an M66 (when it eventually releases!), Anthem STR pre, or I was recently looking at the DSpeaker Anti-Mode X4 that has caught my eye.

I agree , it is aimed at the pro market , but certainly less expensive compared to amethyst or M66 . remote could be handled through ios app . the LA Remote does not work for me either , clearly aimed at pro use . i am still on the fence . not sure if i get amethyst , nova or M66 .

Now that some here have checked out the M66, could you confirm the HDMI out sends cover art?

RTI (remote control system) just released new a new driver for BluOS/Bluesound/ NAD media players v2.34 which adds support for the M66:
that tells me release of the M66 is very close

Latest update from NAD support on M66 release date (as of 2/10)...

The M66 will only be released for sale once the software (which will include Dirac Live Bass Control) has been updated to the standard where it should be. Unfortunately, this will take a few more weeks, however, if more time is needed, we will have to allow for that.

Does anyone know if there has been any mention about wireless surround speaker support like what is present on the M10 V2? I have no experience with this feature and cannot find much user experience about it online but it is actually a feature I would be very interested in.
