Had it in the box for a couple of years, was working fine when it went in there.

I have a paranoid suspicion that a repair person sabotaged it slightly in order to get me to sell it to them*. Not sure. It went in the box after being inspected by them and was working fine before.

In any case, the main light powers on, but when I connect an RCA - 1/4" jack to any of the inputs, no signal gets through to the speakers.

I was wondering if it's possible to work through step by step and find where the signal is getting interrupted, lost, etc.

I'm a n00b at these things and so if there's an obvious walkthrough online somewhere then please direct me there, it's the type of thing which can be very overwhelming to search up without a sense of where to begin.

We have a multimeter, happy to take the cover off and test things that way.

* - was taking another amp to get serviced and this NAD was checked out in the process, became quite coveted and had to insist I wasn't selling it.

First steps: Make sure the tape monitor switch is off! Open the cover and do an initial visual inspection re caps re leakage (sometimes hard to tell, because my 1020 had some fairly liberal amounts of caps secured with brownish glue). I think that model has interior fuses, check they are both intact. And. do you get any sound from the headphone jack when the source is playing?
