Does anyone here have these easel style speaker stands from Monolith (Monoprice)?

Monoprice released these a couple months ago so I was hoping to get some impressions from people before I purchased them.

I have always wanted the Solid Steel speaker stands in this style, but never got them because they are expensive

Wondering how close the Monoprice versions are in quality.

I have had the four post Monolith stands for years, which are okay, but are a little wobbly:

Hoping to solve that with the easel style, and also I think they look awesome.

I have the 18" version. They seem pretty sturdy, however, a big issue is the top plate is tightened in place with a center hex bolt, so it is possible if you don't have it snug, a speaker could tip off of it. I blue tacked my Aura 2's to them and when I tried to removed them I got the top plate to tilt 25-30 degrees before the blue tack released the speaker.

I must ask. What is that interesting looking reptilian thing you have partially in the image. It looks beautiful.

Thanks for replying with your experience. It looks really nice.

I've been curious about what speakers would require such low (18 inch) speaker stands. I can see the Aura 2's are pretty large 3-way standmounts with a high AMT tweeter so I guess I got my answer.

I just saw your other photos of the stand in the Aura 2 thread. I'm definitely buying them, they look so good.

I have the MoFi Sourcepoint 8's and the manufacturer stands are about 23" so I am going to purchase the 24" Monolith easel version.

Upon closer inspection, the Monolith do not have other supportive points of contact other than that center hex bolt holding the top plate in place, while the Solid Steel version has tiny pillars at the top of the legs also supporting the top plate.

I wonder if that makes a huge difference or not.

So you're saying as long as that hex bolt is tightened in place on the Monolith, the top plate doesn't wobble even with your large Aura 2's?

Correct, I didn't realize the top plate wasn't fixed until I took the speakers off. It was stable even with the heavy Wharfedale's on it.
