Damn where have I been gettin high lately, just caught that the Mighty Merle Haggard passed away a week ago today, 4-6-16 
What a tremendous loss to the world of music! One of the greatest country music writer-performers of this generation. I consider myself honored to have attended 2 of his concerts over the years. As a stage performer he just had this smooth, kicked back air about him. He would come out on stage backed by the very best players in country music and just slowly start to wrap you in this comfortable place that you would never want to leave. I really am without the words to describe the joy he could bring to his audience.
RIP Merle, There'll never be another that can fill your shoes!
