I am thinking of getting either the Kef's Q950's,large center,Q150's for surrounds,or getting the Martin Logan Foundation F2's with the C1 center, undecided about surrounds..this system will be placed in a room that is 10.5 wide by 20.5 ft deep with 8' ft ceiling, driven by a Onkyo RZ 70 avr. Using a Paradigm DSP 3100 subwoofer for now. Wondering if those 2 choices are good ones? The store has a 30 return/exchange policy so no risk to me.For movies(40%),Music (60%)? But open to other speakers too....keep it in the 4k area of prices?? I live in Canada so that does limit me somewhat Thanks for the feedback in advance

There are no measurements out there for that Martin Logan as far as I can see. If you want to know for sure you are buying a good loudspeaker, stick to speakers that we know for sure perform well like the Revel Performa3 or KEF R series and some others.

The Martin Logan B10 was tested here and did well. Myself, I'd find a place to listen to them, but might just go with the Foundation F2's. May also be some other options.

I wouldn't call this doing well.

For reference, this is a cheaper loudspeaker of similar size from Revel:

I mean, I've seen far worse than that Martin Logan but I wouldn't call it good. Its just ok, but I know I'd hate all that excess treble the B10 has. The Foundation series is not going to be the same of course, but all I can say is that I never seen a loudspeaker from either Revel or KEF perform badly. Unlike Martin Logan, from which I've never seen a speaker that performs really well.

Amir did recommend the B10, I don't see an issue if a bit of EQ is required. Of late the speakers I've listened to the most are KEF, and as much as I realize they have tested well here, they are not for me (the more expensive ones sure but I wouldn't be spending that kind of money and then there would be other options) . I've listened to the Q950, sounded muddy, all I can say, so given that choice I'd go listen to the Foundation F2's. The Revel's are the option, Crutchfield does have the Concerta2 F35's for about the same price. I'd still go listen to the F2's.

There are various mods for the Q150 floating around on the net.
