I was going off of the measurements here on ASR. The reference 2 was measured rolling off below 49 Hz. The R6 started rolling off at 70 Hz.

The 65hz low on the R6 on Kefs site is pretty close to the measurement shown here.

The Reference 2 meta of 80hz on Kefs site is way off compared.

I spoke to a dealer today and his opinion was that the difference between the Reference 2 and R6 would be inaudible in anything but a perfectly tuned room.

Ordering the R6 today. I know it's a bit of a compromise but since this is a living room, we're not going to be listening at home theater reference levels. I think we should be good.

Not so sure about that! Have you listened to them side by side?

I don’t think so the built quality of the reference series is superior to the regular R series!
I agree that the build quality seems nicer. My dealer sells both the R and the reference series. I give a lot of weight to his advice as he has a financial benefit in selling me the more expensive models. His opinion is that the difference wouldn’t be noticeable unless it was a room ideally set up for audio.
Also, I hate the fact that KEF updates these models every 3 to 5 years. I’m the type of person that likes to have the latest equipment and I know it Would kill me that a new model will come out every few years.
