Have you considered a velour/polyester type fabric for skin contact?

I just bought Dekoni Audio' elite fenestrated pads for my He400, the build quality for price that is commanded leaves a lot to be desired. They'll hopefully break in as I have read in other headphone forums from other users.

Using aftermarket pads on your headphones that you haven't seen acoustic measurements of is playing a complete lottery with how they might mess up the frequency response. Pads can literally make a headphone sound completely different, just as much as if you swapped out the driver for one from another headphone.
