Hi end dac and the JL Audio CR-1 crossover?

Any one have experience with this crossover? Looking at doing away with the preamp and using a higher end dac, but unsure if it’s a waste since the dac would run to the crossover then to the speakers? Would the crossover inhibit better sound from a dedicated dac?

I mean...in the first place a miniDSP would likely achieve better results for a fraction.

Chasing a feature-rich, all-analog signal chain sure is impressive from an engineering standpoint - but still a fool's errand.

Not good, not bad either, I mean 95dB THD+N is ok but at 8V RMS?
You will get far netter performance with a Marchand for example as far as I have tested things and you'll have the chance to tailor it to your demands.
