Hi everyone,

New to this forum and was hoping to get some help. I have a DAC+class d amp made by KEF ( v300 activation module) and they claim 50wx2 channels at 8ohms. I opened up the box and took some photos - would anyone be able to tell me what kind of amp this is and if it is any good? Probably not going to be spectacular but I don't know!

Let me know if you need more pictures and I'd be happy to take them!

This is D-class amp with switching power supply.

Try it for yourself and you will see...
Haha, I guess I was hoping someone would recognize the chip or something so I could look up measurements... I have no idea about any of this stuff so I have no idea where the chip would be on the board to look for it.

The good stuff is most likely sitting under the heat sink. I looked quickly for information and could only confirm class D 2x50 watts into 8 ohms.

Maybe it'll pair well with these speakers:

All we need now is a CD player or turntable!

Probably switching MOSFETs under the sink. Maybe even GaN.

Making a good amp isn't rocket science these days...

If there is any defect or "weakness" it would probably be noise so if you're not hearing background noise (or "excessive" noise) it should be fine. I assume you've listened to it?

But it's not uncommon to "fudge" the power rating.

Underneath the (relatively) big aluminium heat sink. Probably some chip from TI.

TAS5768M perhaps, we can only guess.
