Evening all

Not sure I have posted this in the correct place so apologies if I have not. Had a Fosi V3 for past few months connected via RCA to a Wiim Pro Plus. All good and unit barely gets warm as I would have expected from a small class D amplifier

However, I have just purchased a Fosi P3 and using as a tube pre-amp. Now with the P3 added to the chain (Wiim Pro Plus into P3 (RCA) and then P3 into V3, the previously cool V3 amp, is now getting very hot very quickly (the P3 in contrast does not get even warm).

Can anybody advise me what is likely to be going on here, and especially is there a potential safety issue??

Many thanks

Not sure why you've bought a P3. Possibly it's generating DC or distortion. I'd return it.

Wanted the tone controls on the P3 when connecting to an SMSL CD player delivered today. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Still very warm but hey.......

Just FYI, Fosi is coming out with a new preamp, the P4, in February, all solid state. See photo below. I did not buy a P3 because I wanted all solid state/no tubes.

I used the beta test unit in combination with both the V3 amp and an Aiyima A07 MAX, and found that neither the preamp or the amp got very warm when listening at normal volumes and with the amp haiing a 36v 6a power supply.
