gustard x16 as preamp

is this good combination ? the source will be bluesound 2i

I've got the X18 and it's great. Low noise floor and feels built like a tank. I tried the U18 and couldn't hear a difference so would pass on that. I've got more expensive DACs and couldn't pass a blind test to tell the difference. You have a good one with the X16.

The Gustard X18 DAC will also give you pre-amping functionality... I think gustard x16 don't have this pre amping...

after testing carefully gustard x16 sound lifeless and anemic as preamp
the blusound 2i was much more energetic than gustard x16 as preamp
