Hi there,

Does someone ever heard the Antonio Gallo Strada 2 and also (for example) GR-research OTICA or NX studio, Spatial audio or Caladan?! ( unfortunately, for different reasons, I won't be able to build or buy these OB-speakers.)

Question; Do the Strada's somehow give that "OB-experience "!?... I never heard OB's. (Since more then 15 years having Gallo Due's on stands at ear hight with fast subwoofer ) and still in love with the amazing depth in the image. Thinking about the Strada's to have a bit more "punch")

Greetings

Rudi from the Netherlands

You can join the audiocircle.com forum and post this question in the GR research sub forum. Possibly could be some who owned both models.

My thoughts are the depth may not be much different, it’s the limitations of the Gallo design, needs crossed pretty high with sub, so could be difficult to get right.

Thanks for your response. Todd. For " the pretty high" crossing there maybe is the solution in buying a Lingdorf TDAI amp witch can drive 2 subwoofers in stereo.( If those woofers are fast.) Now using one/single selfmade TL-like sub with 2 times "8 SB acoustics NRX drivers( can hear +- as low as 24 hz in my small European living room); crossing at 160 hz , its in one corner; never been able to locate the sub....Maybe the Lingdorf solution will make it able to cross even somewhat higher.

I meant it’s unusual to have to cross that high. But since you found a solution that works for you, then it’s not a limitation. If you’re happy with it, I wouldn’t worry about how it compares to those other models.

I got the Strada 2's and also other Gallo's, A'Diva SE and the vintage Nucleus Reference 2 (12" metal spheres). Run Gallo with high end gear, they are amazing, yes mega spacious, but be aware they need more current then expected, feed them with quality clean but high power and you will be happy. Not sure about this extremely high crossing, I cross mine around 100Hz and its just fine, higher frequencies crossover gets tricky.
