dayton b65 - the $70 6.5" sealed bookshelf

Specs say the weight is 2.7 kg per unit.

That would be quite »impressive«, as my Wharfedale Diamond 12.2, which seems to be not that much larger, puts 8.2 kg on the scale ...

Not that these are a product I'd buy but having seen them in person the faux wood finish is quite nice, and overall they're an aesthetic upgrade from past stuff, drivers appear to be nicer. They always tune their stuff poorly though and bright, eager to see how these do.

$70 per pair BTW :D

I'd love for Dayton to try making an actually good speaker for once:

Their expertise in low cost production combined with a Klippel NFS could be a winning combination and a serious threat to Micca, Polk etc.
I have these. They do require a brief break-in period, but after that, they are a very pleasant sounding surprise. No need for a sub. I find the bass well balanced and rich with a little punch when needed. It's the mids and upper highs that really make this speaker, though. A full sound with detail is all I'll say. No instruments to tell me whether to like them or not. My ears work just fine. Don't let the appearance or price sway you. Try them.

Neither appearance, price, nor customer feedback sway me tbh :D

If they spin nicely on an NFS, then I'll consider.

Overall would have a little bit of loudness + batman curve.

Agreed.

Now that no one appears to be licensing the Pioneer brand for home audio, Dayton could expend even less effort and arrange to revive the Pioneer SP-B22-LR Bookshelf loudspeaker and sell it exclusively.
