Hi there. I'm going to build a DIY sub at some point but need an amp to power it, likely going with a rockford P2D2 or P3D2 12". If there any other better 12" subs within this price range (sub £160 ideally but could maybe stretch to £200 if it's really worth it) then that'd be great. I was considering thomann's t.amp lineup, but I don't know easily I could low pass them, because none of their models have any crossover apart from one really expensive DSP model. Otherwise they're bridgeable and put out quite a bit of power for their price.

What home amps would you recommend under £170 that can provide a good amount of power (200W) through one 4ohm channel WITH a subwoofer crossover? Or are there any easy ways to low pass a t.amp? Thanks in advance.

First 200w sub amp WITH crossover I thought of at $200.

Soundovo PSB-200 at $200
Looks to be the same, but rebranded

The other way to go would be a similar plate amplifier at $150

Low cost sub DSP option if you have an Apple phone or tablet with microphone. The app works seamlessly with Apple/MAC OS…but not with Android OS

I've had a look, and I think this will work well. 450W 8ohm bridged t.amp e400, and then I can use the Behringer FBQ1502HD graphic EQ. It has XLR sub out with crossover, and I can use the EQ to control my passive speakers' amp as well as my active speakers separate from one another. Amp is £115 and EQ £80, so not too bad.

Only reason I didn't want to go plate amp is you get less power output and plate amps are super expensive in the UK. That dayton plate amp is £205 or $260.

Instead of going for the t.amp E800, which is 1000W, I might as well go for the E400 to save on money and put it into the graphic EQ. The extra 500 watts isn't needed when the sub is 500W RMS. Thanks for your help guys, I might even pick up one of those Dayton DSPs down the road too, looks pretty solid
