A link for a box to add 2nd/3rd harmonic to a recordings I would be interested.

Well I've never wanted one, so I've never looked.

But I just typed "distortion effects box" into google.

With most of those, you might need to adapt between line level and guitar pickup level - or there may be boxes for line level signals - or perhaps they'll just work anyway.

What would be fascinating would be a double blind test with a DG recording from the 70's with varying amounts of 2nd harmonic and see what the preferred amount was. If there were a preference was the amount the same over multiple recordings. Again recording made with OP Amps mixers with Slew Rate Distortion.
