I am looking for an ADC and I don't see many alternatives. i found this. How about these measurements?

Analog input: lotus seat L/R
Input level: Max. 2Vram (2V effective value) = 2.8Vpk (peak value) That is, the standard analog output of CD will not be distorted to the output of this board
Output: fiber coaxial PCM 0dBu
High-end version: 48K/96K/192K free conversion with high sampling rate
Signal to noise ratio -100dB
Low distortion <0.005% (20-20K)

Depending on the source you intend to digitize 2V rms maximum input voltage may be too low. There are too many digital sources which output more than 2V (usually to win a non level matched listening test). You will need an attenuator in these cases.

the source will be a turntable.

is thd level acceptable?

could it be considered good quality?

thanks.

THD and Noise specs are more than sufficient for vinyl rips. And most phono preamps output less than 2V rms so it should be fine.

As LTig said, the noise and distortion specs are quite good enough for vinyl, but I disagree that 2V rms maximum input is enough. Most phono preamps output about 500mV with an LP recorded velocity of 5cm/sec. However, most LPs are cut at least 10dB hotter, and some go up to 20dB hotter. Whilst the 2V maximum therefore will be OK for some LPs, it won't be enough for all. A 10dB attenuator at the input of the ADC may be needed for those where the digital output is clipped.

I could see that happening if you have both a fairly hot cartridge and a 12" EP, but usually a 2 Vrms input should not be a problem at all.

That said, the performance data isn't particularly spectacular. Any clue what it's using for an ADC chip? Does the thing do anything important that e.g. a used Creative X-Fi HD wouldn't?
