A certain song triggers HP ERR of the DX3 Pro+

i wasn't aware this occurred with other headphones as well,
just use u/oratory1990s Harman Target EQ (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/q7jv....pdf?rlkey=i9hffk09z3rnb1zzeyq4bihvv&e=1&dl=0)
and add the Highpass i suggested to it
High pass 10hz Q 0.7

The Distortion you are describing is definitely a wrong preamp value in Equalizer APO (its -5.3 for the EQ i linked) everything louder than that leads to clipping/distortion
I am not talking about gain +19 is fine

Can i leave everything as Topping stock and only High pass 10hz Q 0.7?

I didn't use APO/PEACE for the DX3Pro+ until now. I use it for some BT Headphones.

I get it on the backroundmusic if i play Ridge Racer 7 on PS3 emulation. And of course with other Steam games as well when shooting accurse. But i did't try something like the Fidelio X2 or the Sennheiser 560S. Since they don't need gain +19dB like the DT 990...

Il try these later with gain +6dB.

if you didn't understand me by now, i don't know what to tell you. read up on how EQ works, try to understand my comment and that will work.

So you don't even know if EQ Settings will lead to distortions... 100% this will lead to distortions if you use Dolby Atmos or DTS X Headphone, even if it fixes the issues.

For music using EQ should be fine.

Topping should just fix it. It's their fault...

And it happens with many headphones because of gain settings. Since it has nothing to do with the headphone model itself. But for sure with the gain +6dB or +19dB you need to use for the specific headphone model.

no they don't you don't know what you are talking about and honestly you are a bit annoying too. i have had both the DX3 Pro+, Atmos for Headphones, several headphones and i use EQ and these issues never occurred again, since i got rid of the HE400SE. thats three years of daily use.

so you probably are new to EQ in general, why are you talking like you know your stuff? You sound like a dumb child, if i'm being honest.
I tried to help you and you give me attitude? what is wrong with you kid? I don't care if this gets solved for you, and i did solve these issues for me...now leave me alone, i put you on ignore

I use APO/PEACE. But not for the Topping DAC, only for some BT headpone on laptop (music). So i know what APO is and how to use it (learn reading).

I just want to hear DD Atmos and DTS X as it was intended.

Not talkling about stereo and music. I mean watching movies and gaming (directional audio).

The music you postet. That's what dumb kids are listening to ;)

Bumping an old thread. It looks like this is still an issue with the latest firmware. Using the high-pass 20hz filter in Equalizer APO does fix it. But it's quite ridiculous we have to do this. Guess I'll be shopping for a new amp. -_-
Incompetent mastering isn't the amp's fault.

"Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for contacting TOPPING support. We are happy to assist.
Since the internal circuit of the device cannot be changed, the protection mechanism will always exist. This is to prevent damage to headphones. You can first try to turn down the volume of the device. If the earphone has a sensitivity adjustment function, you can also increase sensitivity."

So indeed it also has to do with gain. I'm pretty sure it mainly occurs if you put gain on +19dB.
