I dont know whether to keep the dx3 pro + or the smsl su1 + topping L30 ii.
I have currently both and i like the dx3 pro + since it takes 15 dc voilts. that means i can power it of a portable power supply. The topping l30ii uses 15v ac .
Currently both are loud enough. But i do like to experiment with headphones so i am not sure the dx3 will be enough. Plus the dx3 keep crashing without the EQ fix and gives me hp error. The topping smsl combo doesnt. The logical part of my brain is telling me to keep the smsl and topping L30 ii and ditch the dx3pro + . But my heart is telling me to keep both , but i fear that i might feel remorse for the wasted money.
The benefit of the smsl + l30 combo is that if Dac or the Amp dies some if it still might survive . I can always just replace the dac part or the amp part.
I need somebody to talk some sense into me.

You can only listen to one pair of headphones which means you only need one rig .

One works reliably ,one doesn't .

Case closed.

I said that i like that i can power it of a portable power supply. but i rarely leave the house.

What headphones ? You can get a dongle for less than £20 that will do the portable job for most .

Since you already own both, and if money are not a strict issue, I'd go with the SU1+L30II combo and keep the DX3 as a backup to be used in case one of the 2 unit of the stack goes wrong, giving you the time to chose and get a replacement still enjoying you headphones.

returned the dx3pro . got myself the a30pro instead. Ran into some problems. Honestly i have no idea what i need at this point. I am thinking of keeping the smsl su 1 + L30ii. Not sure what to do with the A30pro , my plan is to get the hifiman H6 headphones but i have been reading that it is recommended to just use a speaker amp.

You should consider swapping the A30pro for an L70.
Absolutely channel-identical volume control, significantly higher performance with real balanced connections, real preamp outputs balanced and SE, easy-to-read display and remote control.

For on the go, I would always recommend a qudelix 5k with EQ.
