Hi,
I’m new to this forum and excited to share my journey of creating a complete Kicker audio setup in my 2002 Toyota Camry and would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and any tips you might have!
Recently, I’ve been exploring and researching how amplifiers enhance sound quality and power speakers, and how subwoofers add that deep, immersive bass that really elevates the listening experience with minor distortion.
My main question of the setup that I've had trouble finding the answer to is the wiring configuration of the Mono RCA connection to the aftermarket stereo & secondary amp. I noticed that my stereo has a singular RCA port labeled "Subwoofer" but my Mono Amp has 2 RCA's for L/R INPUT, so would I be able to use a Y-splitter to use both RCA's on the singular subwoofer output? Then do I connect the both OUTPUT of the Mono Amp to the 4-CH under AMP 2, which AMP 1 ports would connect to the HeadUnit OUTPUT L/R?
I know that RCA's have a low input compared to Speaker Wire which has a high input, that's why I want more power to my main speakers by running Speedwire (9 Wire). My other question I'm not quite sure about is, The only issue I'm having with the setup is the configuration of the 9-Wire to the stereo speaker wiring. I currently have an android radio which came with a 3 piece wiring adapter for my car, which I'm a little confused on which side I should connect the 9-Wire to. Should I connect it to the wires coming out the vehicle adapter or connect it to the wires coming out of the aftermarket stereo adapter? I made an example diagram of what I think is the correct way, but still not completely sure.
Please let me know if there's anything wrong or any improvements I should make, this is my first major install so I'd like to be as precise as possible.
Thank you In Advance!
I've recently installed a Dual Kicker 12" CompRT Down-firing with a 1200w amp to my 6x9 Kicker DS setup using RCA's a couple weeks ago, but felt like it wasn't enough with my speakers. So now I've decided to revamp my stereo kicker setup here's a list of a few components I've acquired for my new setup.
- Dual 12" Kicker L7S Sub
- 4 6x9 Kicker KS 4-Ohm
- 1800w Kicker Amp
- 4 Ch 360w Kicker Amp
