My audio source is a computer.
I have bookshelf speakers and an amplifier for them.

I'd like to add a powered sub.
Then, control that 2.1 system with DSP for room correction.

Did you make a decition yet?

+1 for MiniDSP 2x4HD w/DIRAC. Its what i use on my 2.2 setup

The MiniDSP is your:
- Crossover
- Time Align Mains w/Sub
- Time Align Multiple Subs
- EQ w/DIRAC
- Apply house curve
- DAC
- Save multiple configurations (i have a config for 2.0 full range, and multiple configs for 2.2 crossed with diff house curves.)
- and More!

It does everything and just works while allowing you to use whatever source & amplification you want.
If you have a DAC that you want to use i think MiniDSP has a product that allows. However, with the 2x4HD you will quickly realize that properly implementing all of the above has a Massive impact and swapping out DAC's becomes peanuts.
