2.0 hifi room setup

Hello,
starting with a new room - living room and 2.0 setup, i want to go with some room acoustic treatment. Room will be shared also with order hw for AVR.

I read there are companies as vicoacustic or artnovion who can do that based on some input.

I am still not sure which way to go ... to let it design to these companies or to design by myself (time limited... ) In case by myself is there some nice thread how to start etc etc
