Looks like Genelec’s were used in the sound system engineering process.

He might be referring to the Epcot Centre.

I went there as a kid in the 1980's. They had a 360 degree projector with arrays of speakers around the circular room (not spherical). They showed us how they captured footage - multiple cameras ganged together like the Google Maps car with microphones pointing in all directions.

Not quite the same as phased array but it impressed me when I was a kid.

Yes, I was amazed too.

The Sphere's Wave Field Synthesis appears to entirely different from the usual multi-channel Immersive Audio.
I've seen some cool immersive demos, especially from Meyer and Alcons, but the Sphere seems to be at an entirely new level from some of the show reports I've heard. Supposedly can play a different language to every so many seats.
Can't wait to get there myself.

here's a speaker array that started the design......for those who haven't watch the vid...

Not sure if it was the Creative Entertainment group who designed that, but I worked with some of them in the 90s and was amazed at the sophistication of the technology in use (or consideration); they seemed particularly good at lighting control, and helped several start ups in the day.

HiMu, thanks for that.

Been following Dave Rat's info vids for a long time. Cool to see one on the Sphere.
