SMSL Sandskrit MkIII doesn't play DSD

I just got a MKIII and cannot get it to play DSD. It will down convert to 44k. My setup is a Raspberry Pi using Moode software. The MKII that the new DAC replaces does not have the issue - I don't think it's a problem with the player. I've also tried the MKIII with a windows laptop.

Has anyone else had this problem? Should I return it? I don't see any firmware updates specific to the new DAC nor am I able to get the DAC to a factory reset.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
