I have 2 pi 4s.
One as asset upnp, and attached ssd drive .
The second pi is with my hifi setup.
I stream from asset upnp to second pi. Then usb to my DACs
DACs are
Mdac plus
Rme adi 2 dac fs.
Adi reports bit perfect.
Very cheap and effective method.
I can also stream dsd 256.

I'm using RPi4 with no hat. No need for it if plugging into a quality DAC.
MacBook Pro -> Audirvana -> RPi4 (UPnP enabled) -> USB -> ADI-2 DAC FS -> XLR -> Purifi amp -> Revel F328Be

This setup offers wireless streaming of Ripped CD's and Qobuz/Tidal streaming. I have Airplay turned off in Moode software on RPi4 so all content is delivered via UPnP. It works great.

Hi, I stumbled on this thread while trying to validate my 6 years old streamer setup for some potential upcoming changes.

I have been using the following:
- Rpi2 (various softwares Moode, Volumio etc.)
- Hifiberry Digi+ pro using Coax out
- Matrix mini-i Pro XLR out
- Opal event

The Rpi and Digi+Pro have worked flawlessly since day 1, I am now running it with HifiberryOs as there is an easy option to use Tidal connect.
Unless I am wrong, the link in the 2nd post confirms that the output from the streamer is as good as it gets so I can only recommend it.
