Reality check - is this YouTube Noire X review total BS or not?

There's no free lunch. You have to do something by yourself.
I'm not your servant.
And this forum is not here to indulge audiophile fantasies. Needless to say I'm not actually expecting a coherent explanation of scaling from you, because it is a muddled nonsensical concept - invariably put forth by people with no meaningful understanding of electronics or how amplifiers work or what measurements of their output tell us... and people trying to sell you things. They are similarly unable to offer a coherent explanation mind you, but can usually summon up some technical jargon to squeeze some FUD or FOMO out of.

The person is arguing with Amirm and a MOD in another thread. Don't invest too much on this aggressive person.

Oh my! Your text is meaninless nonsense and it tells only that you don't have any own experience about things that you just wrote.
Perhaps try moderating your tone and approach to posting on this site . You've been critical , negative and somewhat confrontational in your short time here . How about calming down and being a bit more positive please .

On matters of opinion, one forms an opinion. On matters of fact, there can be no opinion on validity... as a fact is a fact.

Not really; for example follow the discussions on frontiers of physics. Or, to be more on topic, (needed) discussions on what measurements of headphones really mean for the individual listener.

In defense of @ilomaenkimi, the video straight out explains what "scaling" is meant to mean in connection to resolution starting from a beginner's level of expense to way beyond the Noir, at the expert level of expenses. Scaling is measured in expenses.

Before you ask where you stand on this one dimensional ruler, let's say the concept is the regular nonsense. It is a pitty with such mindsets. My conflict with it is whether I should be angry or sorry.

you can't reason with cult members, and yes, it IS a cult (pervasive in the high end audio world), reinforcing a mutually held belief system

I own the Susvara which is pretty much a meme headphone from the cults point of view when it comes to “scaling”. I truly don’t experience this phenomenon since the Susvara still sounds exactly like the Susvara on many headphone systems that I’ve tested

Headphones DO scale. Everybody with experience with different amps and different headphones know that.

Bro you need to power it off a $5,000 speaker amp before they even BEGIN to scale. /s

Some reviews are mostly factual, sprinkled with false conclusions and bullshit.

This seems to be the second one.

I'm semi-interested in the DCA Noire X and have read/watched a bunch of reviews. I'm still scratching my head over this one:

To cut to the chase, begin watching at 24:50 - I don't know what to make of his comments about the Noire X's lack of resolution and that it won't "scale" up as you scale up the DAC/amp like the E3 and Focal Radiance will.

All good faith comments, about such rendered judgments in general or Noire X-specific, are welcomed.
I don't doubt this guy is being earnest, but this kind of criticism is (obviously) entirely subjective. And flip around what he's saying: With an inexpensive source chain, the Noire X sounds better. Hmm . . .

IMO the Noire X is a terrific headphone at $1k. I like it better than the E3. I also think it measures slightly better than the E3.

You should give it a listen. It is a great headphone, one of the two best top-tier performance-for-dollar deals in this hobby (the other being, IMO, the HifiForAll Dahlia, which is just astoundingly good).

Cheers
