I found a Pioneer VSX-82TXS(tested, working) at a local Salvation Army on Ebay. Bid $50, ended up paying $83 with local pickup.
The reviews at the time seem to be pretty good and other than potential defective HDMI boards, is there anything I should be aware of with old electronics like this. I can solder caps which is the limit of my electronics expertise.
I wanted it for the multichannel in which seems to be only on the super expensive receivers. I plan on using the preout on my Pioneer VSX-LX505 and have the VSX-82TXS either run the fronts or use the preout on the VSX-82TXS to my old VSX LX-90
