Hey, recently I ordered a pair of DT770s and they had horrible cable noise, just lightly tapping or rubbing against any part of the cable transfers directly to the headphones loud enough that it overpowers lower volumes.
I looked a bit into what makes cables do this and the general consensus seems to be that it comes from cables being braided and/or having fabric, but the DT770s' cable was completely smooth so I'm a bit confused

(DT770s cable for reference)
I know this *can't* be normal because I have a pair of hyperx cloud 2s from 2019 and they barely do this at all.

I just ordered a pair of fiio FT1s, I've been told that their cable might do this as well but it's replaceable out of the box so I'm hoping to at least find a replacement.
Does anyone have any recommendations for cables that are known good? I need dual 3.5mm mono for the FT1s

I had someone who was raving about how amazing FT1s are unironically say "I just have to hold my head still while listening haha"
That can't be normal right???

any suggestions for earphones cable as well? preferably those selling on aliexpress... microphonics been my horror for IEM usage

From just looking around at reviews seems like the only ones that mention microphonics are for this kind of braided cable, I ordered one for my headphones so we'll see I guess

Those kind of cables (using the supple wires) are lower in microphonics.

Avoid cloth shielded cables they are usually the worst.
DT770 has a fixed cable.

I am using thin and short aftermarket cables (aliexpress) with my DT1770 which has the same issue... microphony in the not so supple cables.

FT1 (pro) comes with 2 rather stiff woven cloth cables that are mildly microphonic (only audible between tracks) before the split and a bit more microphonic above the cable split (40cm below the cups)
Replacing them with a cable like the one above will surely help.

If one wants to be truly free of microphonics wireless is the answer. :)

Not sure if replacing the cable with a DIY solution is in order. This cable comes on the Sennheiser HD 598SR. It is silent. No microphonic stuff. It can be purchased from Sennheiser through the webpage or through support. I think the price is USD $22. It comes with a 1/4" and the proprietary Sennheiser 2.5mm end but that could be cut off and then mount your own end to the DT770?

The confusing part for me is that it seems(?) to be pretty similar to the DT770's cable, both smooth and plastic-y, do you think it could be something about the HD 598SRs themselves that insulates against it?

I'm gonna end up getting some wireless dac and strapping it to the top of my head aren't I? lol

They actually exist, except it connects to the headphone.
