New Rode NTH-100 headphones.

Warning - design flaw: Had these headphones for 6 weeks before they broke. The twistlock that holds the earcup on is a very thin piece of plastic and snapped clean in two. If you look at the 1 star reviews on Amazon you can see that this peice is breaking in the exact same way for lots of people.

Shame, they were very comfortable for extended use and the sound was good enough for what I was using them for (blocking the noise of gronks in the office).
Out of interest: Did you have the older style with the small screw in the locking connector, or the new style with the big flat screw head?

Looks like it is the older style. Did not realise there was an updated version, damn shame that the offical Rode store is still selling the older revision. Only bought them last month. Not sure how much support the 'big flat screw' will add, given where it broke, but hopefully in the process they upgraded the whole part:

Sorry for the sitting in the dark after (with) several whiskies photo quality.

Small update after about 2 years. Supposedly, RODE changed the design and/or polymer of the fitlock:

In addition, there have been changes to the screw head documented a couple posts back. However, I can still see people posting online that they received new NTH-100 with the old (small) screw head within the past ~15 months or so, even as a warranty replacement directly from RODE. Therefore, I'm not sure that all currently sold units come with the improved fitlock design. Even if that was the case, I remain sceptical that this issue has been resolved for good.

The lack of communication on this from RODE does not increase my confidence in the product :(
