need to upgrade my old dac teac ud h01 due to some problems on usb connection.
Topping e50 is a good upgrade for my system or i have to watch more expensive dac?
the actual desktop system is pc-teac-paII-wharfedale 9.1.
hanks in advance for your help

Hi @lost! Welcome aboard.

The Topping E50 is a good DAC and fully transparent.
You don't have to look at more expensive models.

Welcome!

No need for anything more expensive. You won't be missing out on anything regarding sound quality.

hi @staticV3 thanks for your answer,
so if i go up with dac, i don't have any upgrade in my sistem?maybe first i have to upgrade my speakers?

The Topping E50 plays audio perfectly, without adding any noise, distortion, or unique "sound" to it.

Whatever you send to the E50, comes out 1:1 in analog form.

A more expensive DAC cannot improve upon the E50 in this aspect.

To improve sound quality, your first steps should always be loudspeakers, room treatment, digital room correction.

DACs and Amps are secondary.

@staticV3 yes i undesrtand that.
so you think wharfedale are the weak ring of the chain?

The weakest part of almost every domestic audio system is the speakers and room acoustics.

Both can be improved with software EQ, or upgraded with better hardware.

A microphone like the UMIK-1 can help you figure out where to spend your money or time most effectively.

You said you HAVE TO change the DAC, so why are you asking if you might also need to change the speakers? There is no correlation... the DAC will probably be better than the Teac (although I don't know the specs of the Teac)m so your speakers can only benefit from that...
Also, changing many things at once will leave you in a state of unawareness about what did better, and what did worse, just complicating you choice of components to update...
