Hi All

Many thanks to everyone that helped me with the LG TV to Marantz Cinema 60 connectivity issue.

Really good news, following all of the replies, I checked again. I had connected the LG correctly to the Marantz Cinema 60 (the LG Tv just has one arc HDMI connection (HDMI2)) so all was good there however I still could not see the Marantz menu. I have managed a work-round by connecting the Marantz Cinema 60 in to the LG HDMI 3 port. And, as If by magic, the Marantz menu can be seen and I can navigate through the settings. To playback successfully though, I have to reconnect the Marantz to the LG's HDMI 2 (Arc) connection. But that's OK and it's a small price to be able to access the Marantz menus and settings.

I do have one more question though and I am not sure if colleagues can help me with this one. I am also hoping that I am posting this question in the right area. Many apologies if I have got this wrong though.

We have noticed when playing back feature films via Plex (and also live TV) that the voices seem quite quiet compared to the music. Quite often, the music drowns out the voices just enough to make it difficulty to keep up with the plot lines.

Now that I can get to the settings for the Marantz Cinema 60, I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on how best to set the sound side up so that we can hear the voices clearly without having to turn thew volume up and risk blowing the speakers.

Again, many thanks in advance for any advice that I can put in to practice.

All the best

Ed

A player should not change the content and deliver the bitstream straight to the AVR.
Do you have a processing setting in Plex ?
Personally, I don't trust Plex, it can change anything on the content, with transcoding and other features.
I just use Kodi. I'm sure I get the plain content unmodified.

Hi Vincent, Many thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I have checked the plex settings and all looks OK. I don't really want to move away from Plex as my library is quite large now and Plex itself seems to operate really well. I'm thinking that the issue may be more with the equaliser style settings in the Marantz unit. I'm not sure if these settings can be changed to enhance the voice tracks. I'll have a look at the other posts here to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues. Thanks again for getting back to me, much appreciated, all the best, Ed

On my Cinema 70s, on the remote, I press the option button. It opens a window...scroll to channel level and raise the center channel a bit.
