Looking for DCA Aeon 2 Noire alternative

just received them, brand new pair, super happy, sound great! Now I'm thinking the one I bought originally maybe were demo units sold as new, as on these all joints are much stiffer and the headphones smell nice like a new unit should, which I didn't experience before

Awesome! Glad it all worked out in the end.

Still going strong?

Yes, no problems since
a year and 3 months later the problem came back, just on the other side. There's some design flaw in those headphones and replacements just delay the onset of the issue without fixing it. I'm done with these and the company for the time being and I'm actively looking for an alternative again.

The culprit appears to be a dodgy 2pin connector used to connect the LEMO jack to the driver:

Very simple fix if you can do basic soldering (and are willing to void your warranty :()

really sorry to hear about your experience. Sounds like you've been through the ringer with these! I'd be interested in hearing what you end up settling on as i am getting the up-grade-itis. I have a pair of Beyerdynamic T5p second gen, which are my first foray into audiophile headphones, which sound amazing (compared to the ATH-W1000 woodies i had previously)

Thanks! I forgot about that, will try to do it as I don't have warranty anymore anyway. I just hope I can reuse the pads as they're rather expensive

Please keep us updated here if you are able to fix them.
I would hope that DCA fixes the design in the future.
