I hear you my friend!! its okay to end up in the dog house every now and then as long as its a worthy reason
I am reluctant to say that I have always enjoyed equalization with a fear of being run out of town by audio purist folks with pitch forks. Glad to hear you are on the same wave length.. If you look at the rack closely in the photo, you'll see a 10 band equalizer sitting right next to it on the floor
In the audio purist world it could be a sin using such a thing, but I am saving enough to bribe my way when I get to that gate.. I engage that equalizer every so often to increase the overall loudness and increased subtle notes, which I miss in the newer preamps and amps.. I have to admit, when I engage the equalizer in the loop and I listen to some music like the thriller MJ, the opening of the door and the maniacal laughter through the Magico is so frighteningly real.. The Salk veracity ST build is moving but slow.. when I get those, it'd be interesting to hear what a transmission line speaker and ribbon tweeters sound like.. I owe it to you for getting the Lumin U1 mini.. it's a nice little thing.. and I love the DAC on the Luxman D03, it exudes the Japanese quality of excellence.
I am so sorry to hear about the tinnitus.. Hope one of the specialist can help with it, minimize it.. My brother in law is a retired physician MD General Medicine but doing consultation work now on a limited base out of Worchester UK, I'll reach out to him, see if he has any thoughts. On my side, something that I have been dealing with since January of 2021 is chronic lower back pain. Seems to be getting worse and I am so hesitant to take strong naproxen with what it's doing to my liver. Long session of listening to music has become a thing of the past. I wish I had built the system like ten years back, but then again there were other financial commitments and uncertainties in life. Anyway, I guess we'd have to make the best of everyday. Glad you liked the photos of the system
. Hope you have a great time with your Dad's visit.. enjoy while they are around as much as you can.. I lost my dad in 2016, a truly kind, gentle and extraordinary man. miss him.. cheers..
