Farewell my friends. Health is deteriorating - I'm fading out. (Updated - RIP)

My condition continues to deteriorate and I will move to an assisted living facility tomorrow. I can barely walk with a walker. I will only have my Android phone for now but still read ASR daily.

Since I can no longer use speakers, I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X headphones which should work okay with my tablet. I copied about 25,000 of my mp3s to the tablet and can stream internet radio. The quite sensitive and supposedly neutral headphones should arrive today. (Thanks @Geert for the positive comments on the Beyerdynamics.)

Should my end arrive, a friend will post notice on my Facebook page.
Hi David. I just saw this, I apparently miss many of the important things on ASR.I have always enjoyed reading your posts.
I regret that I don't get to meet many of the interesting people here.
I am glad you still take peace in music, and I will be thinking of you every time I put on my Beyerdynamics. They are just an object. You are precious. Thank you.

Best wishes to you, David and thank you so much for all of your posts here - I feel like I have benefited greatly from your knowledge and from your posts about living in Panama - always enjoyable! Enjoy the Beyers - my go-to headphones are my DT-770s - the most comfortable headphones I have.

Hope you find comfort and peace!

Kind regards,

Rick

...The later the better... ("never", not being an option for any of us)

Wish you the best, @Xulonn. Confort, peace, music and rest. Hope you will keep an eye on here as long as you can. :)

David, I am so sad to see this. Certainly for you, but also for the rest of us who will be so much poorer without your wit, friendship, and life experience.

I don't know him, nor do I know his posts on the forum, but his integrity at this time is an example for a world without values or dignity. My prayers and my respect friend.

@Xulonn I was hoping that your condition would remain the same with mobility or get better alas that is apparently not happening. We'll be saddened without your participation. You make good commentary here at ASR and I will miss it if you are not here. Take care and I hope they have a nice place for you with nice extended care aids and such so that you are comfortable and well cared for.

The 1st post in this thread was about a year ago. I'm glad we've had your participation for that year.

Wishing you peace and comfort going forward.

Sorry to hear this ... but as your first post in this thread and the later development showed: there is always reasonable hope for some good times, so don't give up. You never walk alone!

So sorry to read this @Xulonn. Respect to you for some of the most well reasoned and thoughtful posts on ASR.
I can only speak for myself, but I suspect your presence here has had more influence than you imagine.
Enjoy your music and best wishes my friend.

Thank you so much for sharing everything that you have in this community, and now you are sharing the most delicate, and intimate of experiences with us. What a great compliment you pay to this fine community, and what a great part of it you have clearly been. I am so happy for you that you have been able to reflect and say that you have enjoyed your life and been surrounded by love and friendship. That is all any of us can ever hope to have, and I am happy that you were so blessed. Please be wrong and be around for years yet, but if that is not your fate, know that you made a mark in this community and I am sure in many other communities and hearts.

I don't know about you, I just read a few posts in passing. Your first message hit me like a running train, I don't even know why, I felt your words on me and they moved me, I read everything and I was happy that after a while you were better, and then again today this relapse.
I don't know you but you gave me something.
Best of luck from the heart. I hope to read your update here in another year

Sad news indeed -- but I am encouraged to think that you are/will be safe, comfortable, and surrounded by people and things that you love and enjoy!
Yes, I, too, look forward to seeing updates whenever you're in a position to share them!

I wilk be thinking of and also praying for you, @Xulonn !
