Tub thumpers that stand out. Or possibly cant hide. For better or worse. Go

Thus far on my Saturday listening session I have had Bonzo, Ringo, Phil C, Jimmy Chamberlin, Stephen Perkins (amongst many others). No mistaking any of them. So I would love to hear suggestions for drummers (Dont care about technical ability) that you can not mistake for anyone else.

Keith Moon was my favorite.

But just about any good drummer can mimic another drummer's style.

Sometimes I think it's just the mix. I was listening to something a few weeks back... I think it was Blondie. and they had a couple of different drummers. Anyway, I was thinking the drums really sound good. Nice and dynamic and clear in the mix.

That is the point though. If they are mimicking someone, that person has a "thing". I am sure a lot of it is standard in terms of complexity and competency but in terms of recorded music, some just have a thing you notice.

We saw The Who a couple years ago, with Zach Starkey (Ringos son) on drums. He nailed it. Precisely. I was very impressed.

If I was being tough I would say post a track/ clip that defines and encapsulates their "thing".

Everyone can think of a Clyde clip- but is there an equivalent to mark a Jabo?

Carter Mclean and Dimsunk are two of my favorites of modern players. Unmistakable in terms of level and groove, I suppose. Not sure I could pick them out blind.

Two stand out, and they are totally different : Cozy Powell (drummer for Whitesnake) and Art Blakey (legendary jazz drummer, one of the best ever)

Yes, agree, just one hell of a drummer. As an aside, most people don't appreciate how important the drummer is. They're the timekeeper for the band -- if the drummer is off, the song is off (and it's readily apparent).
