Hey pals! I saw that Orchard Audio will be there this weekend, is anyone else planning on going?

I'll be there Saturday and am looking forward to hopefully seeing @Dennis Murphy in the Philharmonic Audio room (306) as well as the SVS, Hsu, and Orchard Audio rooms.

Have fun! I’m passing this year unless you report back that there are Dutch & Dutch 8Cs hiding in a room not listed. If they were I’d go to hear them and the Mofi Sourcepoints. And Philarmonic too because the towers are so enjoyable and Dennis is such a nice fella.

Hey, I'll be there either today or tomorrow - still undecided. Also looking forward to checking out the philharmonic audio room!

Yeah it'd be really nice to hear the 8C as well as the Salon2 - but somehow I doubt those make it to many shows :)

I also noticed Salk isn't there this time, I hope Jim is doing well.

Some day I am gonna get down to the DC 'burbs and get to one of these. I really didn't have an excuse not to go this year -- other than sloth.

Salon 2 (sadly) discontinued, highly unlikely they will be at any shows going forward … maybe the 328Be though (which to my ears is absolutely not the equivalent of Salon 2, no matter how much Revel wants you to believe that)

Jim Salk retired and they auctioned off his stuff earlier this year I think. The 8Cs were at Pacific Audiofest so I was hoping they made it out here but alas no. Hopefully you can share some thoughts and photos.

I love shows, but hate my budget.

Waiting for next year's pacific Northwest Audiofest!

Send pictures if you are at this show!

Hey! Thank you!

Some of the speakers look like they could have come from the "AI speaker design" thread here!

I know Lou Hinkley, those are lovely to behold.

How was your experience in the Arion room....very interesting look.

@alont got way better pics than I did, so I'll try not to double up much

IMG_4960.jpeg

@Dennis Murphy has a 20hz tone test track, we thought the pics were going to rattle off the walls when the BMR towers cranked it!

IMG_4961.jpeg

Atrium full of vinyl mostly

IMG_4965.jpeg

Synergistic Research Ted saying that he "can't listen to a stereo anymore" without his magic ball-on-stick thing (center)

The room sounded great, admittedly. I'd not heard those Estelon speakers before today, they were very nice indeed.

IMG_4964.jpeg

Mon speakers, made of titanium and filled with wood and leather - interesting design decision

IMG_4962.jpeg

A "point source" mid and tweeter array over dual sealed (!) 12 inch drivers
IMG_4968.jpeg

This Maggie - servo sub DSP wizardry room featuring @orchardaudio sounded great

IMG_4970.jpeg

Triangle is a French company
IMG_4971.jpeg

I laughed at the extra feet holding up this piece of electronics

IMG_4972.jpeg

This guy appeared to have made everything himself, from the subs to the vinyl cartridge. Now that's dedication!

IMG_4973.jpeg

Sonos Fabers in the Technics suite

IMG_4974.jpeg

This guy made his own speakers too and they sounded really nice. He had a sign on the door dating anyone to find a better sounding room (which I did)
After all those $60,000 racks, it was refreshing to see a guy just slap his electronics on the ground

IMG_4976.jpeg

Magnepan was there! This is a new model for them, the 2.7i, coming soon. Good bass, shouty mids in this setup. A customer pointed out they had the right and left channels switched...

IMG_4977.jpeg

Perlisten S7t blew me away. Fantastic. And look, they cared enough to treat the room with more than just plants!

IMG_4978.jpeg

Posting your own Klippel measurements? Yes please

IMG_4981.jpeg

This was a room

IMG_4984.jpeg

Ah the vaunted MBL omnis! Cool effect

IMG_4986.jpeg

There was no price posted for these speakers, which I'm sure meant that they could send my kids through college with the same amount of money

IMG_4990.jpeg

Zu, who I'll give credit for being one of the only affordable sets off speakers at the show. Unfortunately the music choice they were demoing these with was abysmal

IMG_4991.jpeg

Harbeth. They didn't interact with the room well at all

IMG_4992.jpeg

B&O showed off some really neat toys
IMG_4993.jpeg

This nutty speaker has an up firing tweeter that's motorized and you can adjust via app

IMG_4995.jpeg

A magnepan competitor (out of France maybe?) Called Diptyque. They sounded great. Knowledgeable rep!

IMG_4997.jpeg

Nobody was in this room, which was a shame because these sounded really good. Some Italian brand, "Opera" maybe? Their sound floated above the boxes, weird to hear

IMG_5002.jpeg

A bespoke speaker with no price...props to them for their taste in music though, Disclosure feat London Grammar is always a good time.

IMG_5010.jpeg

The big guys here must've weighed a ton because they were made out of marble. A Quarter million dollars per pair

I didn't get a pic because it was crowded, but the Vienna Acoustics room also sounded good.

I have another 70 pictures I took today and some of them have pretty cool gear. Should I upload just the top 20, or share a Google photos album?

Looks like the Opera Callas Diva. Something they call

View attachment 325832
Yeah that's them, good detective-ing! I knew there was some "trick" happening with the highs, weird that the sales rep in that room didn't mention the two tweeters on the back

@alont Idk how I missed all of those wood - carbon fiber - glass - crazy lookin speakers! Very cool

For anybody who stopped by one of my 3 rooms (4 rooms that is, one with a hidden secret), I would love to hear your thoughts/feedback/comments.
