There are some nice DACs out there like the Topping D10s
that have a small form factor, one default filter, are cheap,
- but lack SPDIF input. "Only" USB via XMOS
Reading the Datasheet of ES9038Q2M DAC
There is SPDIF input on board of the Chip.
But I do not understand whether the XMOS Control Interface is always needed to set SPDIF as default
input or whether the of the ES9038 input and playback state can be "hardwired",
so that the DAC runs by itself:
i.e SPDIF in as default, one filter as default, PCM sample rate from 16/24/44.1 to 192 as default range,
volume control off.
Possible without controller?
Best,
Herbert
