I remember a cartoon from the mid or late 90s. That’s when the tattoo craze had begun. it was two super shrivelled up old men and a changing room covered in ugly shriveled, tattoos, and one saying to the other guy “I see you went through the 90s as well.”

I also remember during the 90s tattoo revival, my wife’s girlfriend clocking her tongue at the phenomena, saying she can’t believe how many of her friends have got a tattoo . I remember her reasoning for not getting a tattoo was “I don’t even like the jeans I wore in high school and would never wear them, why the hell would I get some permanent fashion statement put on me that I can’t change?”

It wasn’t that much longer before she got a tattoo.

It’s amazing the trend never stopped and only increased over the decades.

Silent peer pressure. It turns out people would jump, if everyone else was jumping off a bridge. And, "I want to be different, just like all these other people".
