Marillion - Sugar Mice

I remember listening to this as a teenager in the late 80s, suffering the worst kind of heartache - unrequited first love. Stay away from the "original" video on YT, which (inexplicably) cuts off the absolutely brilliant first guitar solo.

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer.

Only recently rediscovered this while taking a trip down music memory lane. To my surprise this is actually (!) a brilliant song, and an excellent way to test your systems bass-capabilities!

Simple Minds - Belfast Child

Another heartstring-tugger.

Psychobilly is more of an '80s thing. Demented Are Go - Holy Hack Jack off In Sickness And In Health (1986)

I was a a DJ at college radio stations, country radio stations, rock radio stations, NPR & Night Clubs in South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC (all USA) from 1974-1985. And I also travelled in Austria, Germany & Italy during that time.
We must have missed out on that trend, as I have never heard of it.
It must have been extremely niche.
We did, however, play "The Stray Cat Strut" on occasion.
