Bloomberg?
Well known as scientifically investigating fire occurrences on ships?
Not seriously.
As I know, those transporters are equipped with CO2 fire estinguishers, that work fine with 'usual' fire, but not with Li batteries, as these produce sufficient oxygen when burning to keep the fire going on ...

Lots of fires on cargo ships carrying lots of cars, but no EV's. I bet you've never heard about a single one of them. Yet a ship with 4000 cars (about 500 EVs) and it is headline news all around the world.

Thanks for letting us know you’re one of those folks that disputes the mainstream media when they don’t like what it reports. Of course Bloomberg is known for distorting the news, that’s why every corporation, bank, investment bank, and other financial person subscribes to it. But you know better. Have a great day.

How can you see truth behind the news? Is that like the shadow behind the picture frame where all sorts of stuff occurs but not in the big picture? It's all very spook stuff. LoL. :D

Sodium. Yeah, there's a friendly element.
Take a chunk of metallic sodium and throw it into a lake. :)

Conclusion:
most, if not all of these icidences are due to electrical failures.
So EV (Lithium driven batteries) are excluded.
Right?

Did never want to become polemic this way, esp. in 'science'. But Li harms landscapes, children, invironment etc. where mining.
Burning ships are problems of luxury...
.... Bloomberg reported right this way ...;) ?

Does Anyone? blame Any Trolling here?
If so, Adam may be judging!
If not: discussion for science and technology may proceed ...

Next scene....

That it does.
... and, yes, I realize we're talking about ions not the metal.

Not optimistic that there's a safe, environmentally-responsible, sustainable, and economical "battery" (electrochemical cell) technology out there.

Seems so. Even with solid state batteries; see below

Not really some come here that have no interest e-Fuels, fuel cells or batteries. Just complaints about subsidies, lack charging stations, how there is too much solar, no options for nighttime and high demand power and eliminating inefficient ICE vehicles will only yield 2% reduction in CO2 and yet that small tax on the grid will collapse it. There really is no interest in all gains we have made in renewable energy production, whole industries switching away from ICE, electric motor efficiency, 300+ mile range cars, $1.7 billion set aside for charging stations, heat pumps, etc. as well as all the jobs that stuff creates and forget about climate change, that doesn't exist. Instead prediction of utter failure and resurrection of ICE by lawsuits, SCOTUS, and the 2024 election.
It is happening, new solar and wind stations are coming on line at fast rate, as well as new EVs showing up in show rooms. More than half my neighbors have at least one EV or PHEV, almost all have rooftop solar panels and several have whole house backup batteries. There are issues with the grid and storage and some foreign adoption, for sure, but progress is rapid and steady.

I believe that you believe this. However, according to Bloomberg, it’s not a statement based on facts. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/news...electric-cars-are-causing-ships-to-catch-fire

EVs don’t cause more ships to catch fire, and they don’t catch fire more often than ICE cars in general. However, when they do, there is nothing much anyone can do, other than wait. Traditional fire control measures commonly deployed on car carriers (and in parking garages, etc.) are all based around depriving the fire of oxygen. This, sadly, is not going to affect a lithium battery fire.
