Yeah, you need to be stronghearted to be a jazzman... I remember going to listen to Dizzy Gillespie in Dallas (in 1983, I think). He was playing in a hotel. I managed to get there early to be sure to be seated as it was going to be, you know, Dizzy, yeah THE One Dizzy!!!. First I thought the gig was cancelled as there were no lights... They told me not and that I could seat anywhere almost in the dark. Then, they eventually turned the lights on 10mn before the beginning of the concert, when a couple more people came in. It turned out that there were more musicians on the stage than in the room! Dizzy was drunk, but that was a great concert!Jazz: The Music of Unemployment
