:) Her rendition of Trilogy on the same day is equally stunning.
Edit: She was 17 when she did those pieces. Here's an excerpt of "Tarkus" that she did recently:
An incredible talent. A shame she most likely paid such a high price for it's development in exchange. :(

When life breaks your eggs, you can cry - or make an omelette.
(Incidentally, her father is currently going blind due to an unrelated condition. She's teaching him how to cope.)

While certainly not a recent discovery, yello-kiss in blue, has some cool stuff, and this video, the music, the theme, the ambiance, it's so cool I thought I should share it for folks not exposed to yello.

Yes I have his first album... Tribute?
Got the John Newman - Tribute CD in the mail today.
Still enjoy his singing very much and the SQ isn't bad, BUT it's the worst, most heavily compressed victim of the loudness wars I've ever run into.
With a Offical DR5 rating, the highest track measures DR5 with many a DR4.
That's just sad, why do they have to squash a vocal recording so heavily? :(
Too bad this stuff can never be returned to the manufacturer.

Unusual departure for Yello and a most excellent one!

...

You know something's wrong when a heavy metal album ends up less compressed than a semi-acoustic soul/blues album. (Iron Maiden, "The Final Frontier" versus Tom Jones, "Praise And Blame". Both mastered in 2010 by Bob Ludwig.)

Yes, that's why it lays gathering dust in my collection. Loud is great but meaningless if not used in conjunction with quiet.

Loud all the time, dynamically squashed like this renders the music bland! A grave disservice to the artist...

I like a little compression personally, just to lift areas but needs to be use judicially.. Better still judiciously. ( I took my own advice).

I just had a listen on YouTube ... and can only agree. His voice is interesting - I think I might get hold of some of the material and see if I can reverse the damage to some degree, as an exercise ...

Cat Stevens ' tea for the tillerman ' is the perfect antidote.

In my view it's one of the humans best achievements In recorded music.
+1
I've got a needle drop rip of the Mobile Fidelity LP.
Music so good I can almost listen past the vinyl artifacts. :p

I have to say this one is my cup of tea - nice one, Bob!

BTW, anyone into Double?

Thanks to tomelex. And I searched extensively Heidi Happy. I watched several music videos of her, live.
She is beautiful, always smiling (very very charismatic smile, sultan, velours, envoutant, voluptuous, addictive, etc.).
Her voice is smooth like slow sensuality, soft velvet, silk, she takes over your entire body and soul. ...As she is touching your lips with hers.
She is original, she is versatile, she's unique. And I like her a lot. Thank you again tomelex.

Frank, I checked Double; I'm not familiar with the band...they didn't stir the coffee in my cup. ...They should have.
____________

Here's a better sound quality of that music video you liked Frank (720p with less audio compression, your mojo music):

_________

It is very hot again here today, too hot; needs the shade...Heidi Happy is my shade. * Cool name too...Happy. :)

Thanks for that link, Bob ...

This Double album, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_(Double_album), at one time was almost permanently stuck in the player, ;) - played over and over again, superbly smooth and 100% addictive, in my book probably the ultimate lounge lizard album ... because it was recorded in the 80's, it requires a reasonably competent rig to not mess up the SQ - to me this is the equivalent of a classic Sinatra album, in terms of the emotional hit.

Edit: YouTube,
