His ↑ acoustic stuff; some of it nice, peaceful. Got his first four albums (CD).

His ↓ latest album; electronica, with lots of sound effects...echoes. ...Meditative, new age, ...so so.

* I like him more acoustic.

Thomas, thing is...nowadays you click one single button...adjust the tempo knob...and voila...full music recreated from a DSP program.
Kids love it because they don't need to play a musical instrument, they require no necessary agility/true talent.

It is the exact opposite of a classical music orchestral concert, an Opera with organ and choir.

Sure, your speakers vibrate (drivers) in your room, and the girls they dance around. It's pulse music, not soul music.
It's for fun, sensuality.

Real music is spiritual, food for the brain and soul of a man, woman and child...with real flavor/essence.
RAP, Punk, Heavy Metal, Electronica, ....is for sex, exhibition, effects, bones, skulls, skin, body.

IMHO :)

I find meaningful ' human' artistic connection on many different levels from many different genres of music and indeed other intentional artistic mediums, in addition I also find the same connection from plenty of non intentional sources of human creation and From nature as well of course...

So I don't in the least bit recognise your prejudice Bob.

For me all art is fundamentally about communication, I abide by no preordained categorisation or prejudice, recognise no right or wrong. I simply open up to what's presented before me, it speaks my language or it does not, however my recognition of it's merits as I perceive them does not prove anything other than its value to me..

Each the their own though:)

Bryan Ferry, he has over a hundred songs on you tube, lots to listen to there, I like this song, and most of his stuff is upbeat sounding.

Of course, he goes back a looong ways, in the guise of Roxy Music ... in '72:

Chris, that first track sounds great even on my laptop speakers. Is it as high fidelity as I think when played on your system?
Amir,
The Julian Lage album is very well recorded, it's almost too close sounding actually. All of his albums are impressive for their musicality as well as the sound quality. If you ever can see him live, it's very much worth it.

Jonathan Kriesbergs albums sound much better than the youtube I posted.

This reminds of Australian purely instrumental groups of the '60s, I have a CD of oldies with this sort of sound - everything old is new again, so they say ... ;).
