Dear valued forum members,

For a friend I'm trying to help with a budget setup for DSP and/or DIRAC.
Set up (currently): Onkyo TX-NR535 with two large tower speakers.
Goal: control the bass (wall placement for both coach and speakers, alternative placement not possible).
Secondary goal: maximum budget control.

Can we use the line-out on his amplifier, feed it through the MiniDSP (2x4 HD) and then loop it back to the amplifier as an analog source?
Maybe he will loose his Spotify Connect functionality, but that we could overcome with a rp4.
And furthermore, for TV purposes, what sould be the estimated A/V delay due to all this processing (ADC -> DSP -> DAC) in the 2x4 HD?
Thanks for your help in advance!

No, the line out will be the line out of the currently selected source. So you can't select your actual source that you want to listen to to go to the line out, and then have a different input selected to go to the power amp.

You would need to either use the MiniDSP to select the source, or a separate source selector upstream of the mini dsp.

For the last question, does the TV have optical out? Or can you use an HDMI to optical extractor, then connect this directly into the mini dsp.

It might help if you specify what all your sources are and what outputs they have.

Ah it might be quite simple, he is using chromecast to TV and from TV to the amplifier.
I'll check if it has an optical out. Than it would be f**** simple!
